WMC Advances to District Finals

Scottville, MI- The WMC Warriors took the hour drive north to Scottville to take on Mason County Central in the District Semi Final and won the game 34-28. "Mason County Central is a well-coached team, coach Vander Haag does a nice job, his teams always play hard and physical, " said WMC coach Matt Haveman. The Warriors were up 14-10 at halftime and 23-18 at the end of the 3rd quarter. WMC scored 14, 4th quarter points and squeaked out the win. "We knew this was going to be a tough game, on their home court for a trip the district finals on the line and our guys came to play tonight," said Haveman. "Zach Weare played a great defensive game against Cole Vander Haag holding him to 2, 1st half points and holding him scoreless in the 3rd quarter and 8 total points on the night." "That was part of our game plan and Zach executed that plan on a high-level tonight, I'm happy for Zach and the effort he game tonight," said Haveman. Tyson Annema led all scorers with15 points, Braeden Olson had 6 points and Lucas Weare scored 6 on the night. WMC advances to the District Final on Friday night to play North Muskegon at 7PM.
