WMC Boys Basketball Win District Title

Scottville, MI - The WMC boys' basketball team made the hour-long drive north to Mason County Central to take on North Muskegon in the district finals and came away with the win 49-43. This was a tight ball game from the tip as North Muskegon was up 10-9 after the first quarter and the game was tied 20-20 at halftime. "We have a lot of respect for North Muskegon and their program, Chuck Rypstra does a great job preparing his teams for the tournament, we knew this was going to be a tough game and it was," said WMC Matt Haveman. "We had a solid game plan, and our boys executed that plan at a high-level tonight, I'm proud of our team and all hard work and effort they put into this season, I couldn't be happier for our kids, they earned tonight's win," said Haveman. WMC scored 29 points in the 2nd half to secure the win, WMC was led by Tyson Annema with 19 and Lucas Weare with 18 points. Zach Weare and Gavriel Modderman each scored 6 points on the night for the Warriors. North Muskegon was led by Adam Dugener with 18 points. WMC advances to the regional semifinal game on Tuesday night to take on Pewamo Westphalia at 7PM.
