Track & Field (Boys & Girls) Scores

The WMC Track and Field teams took to the road this week, competing at the 7 team Carson City-Crystal Invitational. Both teams took advantage of the best day of weather this season, notching many PR's and season best times/ distances enroute to a 2nd (Boys) and a 4th (Girls) place finish. Big congratulations to Bri Warners, who cleared 8' 3" in the Pole Vault, breaking her own school record of 8' 0", set last season, and winning the event today! Highlighting the meet on the Boys side was the distance crew, which swept places 1, 2 & 3 in the 800, took 4 of the top 6 places in the 1600 and claimed 3 of the top 6 in the 3200. Personal Records not in scoring position for the Girls Team included: Jamee Towers (15.71) in the 100m and (10' 10.5") in Long Jump, Ellie Kreuzer (20' 10.75" and 62' 2.25") in Shot Put and Discus Both teams have been working hard over the course of the season, giving it their best in practice and rising to the challenge of competing in downright cold and unseasonable conditions this season. To see that hard work finally pay off in big ways and for so many athletes is exciting and a great way to set us up for the Regional meet next Friday.
