Baseball Wins First Division 3 District Title

5-31-25 The WMC Warriors were victorious in their District Semi-final matchup on Saturday over the Kent City Eagles. Final score was 5-2. Alex Wagenmaker got the win, going six strong innings and only allowing five hits. He also did not walk a single batter in the game. Will Liggett came on to pitch the seventh inning and picked up the save. Caleb McKay had a great day at the plate, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored, a stolen base, a double, and a moon-shot, two-run homerun in the top of the third inning that traveled well over 340 feet to leftfield. Quint Menefee was 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored, while fellow infielder Will Liggett scored two runs, reached base three times via one walk and two HBP, and drove in a run with a perfect squeeze bunt. Max Miller drove in two runs and had a basehit. Nathan Clausing was 2 for 4 and Alex Wagenmaker went 2 for 3 and reached base on a HBP. JJ Braun went 1 for 3 and Luke Maat and Jack Sipe played flawless defensively. 5-31-25 The WMC Warriors celebrated another District Championship on Saturday, with a 7-3 win over North Muskegon. Senior Ace Max Miller pitched a great game, going 6 1/3 innings and collected nine strikeouts to pick up the victory. Will Liggett closed things out to pick up the save. The Warriors' bats were on fire in the Championship game to the tally of fifteen total hits. Will Liggett was perfect in the game, going 4 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. Quint Menefee and Max Miller both went 3 for 4 and combined to score two runs, and drive in three runs. Caleb McKay scored a run, doubled, and had two RBI'S, while Nathan Clausing also doubled and drove in a run. Alex Wagenmaker went 2 for 4, with an RBI and a run scored and JJ Braun singled and scored a run in the top of the fourth inning. Jack Sipe laid down a huge sacrifice bunt in the second inning that resulted in a big run for the Warriors. The Warriors will next play on Wednesday, June 4th at 4pm in a Regional Semi-Final matchup vs. Central Montcalm. Game will be played at Ravenna High School.
