Varsity vs Mona Shores High School Second The WMC Boys Tennis team opened the season with a tournament win and a win at home against Comstock Park. We also competed in a tournament at Mona Shores and took home a second place flight win at 3 singles. Mona Shores Tournament We competed in a tournament Monday at Mona Shores with some strong teams from Mona Shores, Thornapple Kellogg and Portage Northern. Freshman Reed Van Stratt, 3 Singles, won second place by beating Thornapple Kellogg's player 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 in a third set tie-break. He beat the Portage Northern player 6-2, 6-4 Junior Luke Vander Wall had a win at 2 Singles against Portage Northern in a marathon match that required two set tiebreaks and a third set tie-break. He ultimately won 7-6, 6-7, 10-8. Senior Noah VanWoerkom and Sophomore Levi Leffring had a win against Portage Northern at 1 Doubles: 6-2, 2-6, 12-10 in the third-set tiebreak.
