Warriors Stage Dramatic Comeback Against Timothy Christian

Elmhurst, Illinois – September 5, 2025 In a thrilling matchup on Friday evening, the Western Michigan Christian High School boys soccer team displayed remarkable resilience, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game against Timothy Christian. The nail-biting contest took place at Timothy Christian's home field, where the Warriors showcased their fighting spirit. Timothy Christian took an early lead with two goals, putting the Warriors under pressure. However, Western Michigan Christian refused to back down. Braedon Hoffman drew a free kick just outside the penalty area late in the first half, and Carter Heimiller smoked the direct kick beside the defensive wall into the left lower corner of the goal. The halftime score was 2-1 in favor of the Trojans. The Warriors' defense held strong through several sustained attacks from Timothy throughout the second period, and with just 11 seconds remaining on the clock, Heimiller scored a stunning long-range goal after Tyson Annema dropped the ball back to him, securing a dramatic equalizer for the Warriors and stunning the home crowd. Colin Van Bruggen made seven saves for the Warriors, as Timothy outshot WMC 9-6. WMC (3-3-4) will travel to Coopersville today (September 8) to take on the Broncos.
