GMAA Tournament We participated in the GMAA Tournament Saturday, competing against Whitehall, Reeths Puffer, Mona Shores, North Muskegon and Fruitport. Two of our flights earned medals, and all of our players had at least one win for the day. Sophomores Levi Leffring and David Ritzema took first place at 2 Doubles. They defeated Reeths Puffer 7-6, 6-2 in their first match and then defeated North Muskegon 6-2, 6-1. They took on Mona Shores in the finals match, defeating them 6-2, 6-0. Junior Cole Huizinga took second place at 4 Singles defeating the Whitehall player 6-1, 6-3. Then he defeated the Reeths Puffer player 6-4, 6-2. Senior Reid Staal (1S) defeated Fruitport 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Reed Van Stratt (3S) defeated North Muskegon 6-1, 7-6 Senior Noah VanWoerkom and Sophomore Caleb Clausing (1D) defeated Fruitport 6-1, 6-1. Freshmen Cash MacKeller and Wyatt DeVries (3D) dropped their first set with Reeths Puffer but battled to win the second set 6-4. They won the match in a third set tie-break (10-4).
