HUDSONVILLE - The Western Michigan Christian Warriors wrapped up their regular season with a hard-fought 2-0 loss to powerhouse Unity Christian on Friday night. Despite the scoreline, the Warriors battled toe-to-toe with the state’s Division 2 No. 2-ranked team, creating several promising chances and keeping the Crusaders under pressure throughout. Unity struck once in each half—both goals coming shortly after WMC’s best opportunities to score—as the Warriors were unable to find the finishing touch in the attacking third. With the regular season complete, WMC stands at 11-4-5 and turns its focus to the postseason. The Warriors enter the state tournament as the No. 2-ranked team in Division 4 and will open play on Tuesday, October 14, hosting the winner of Ravenna and Wellspring Prep as they begin their pursuit of a fourth consecutive state championship.
